WHAT WE DO
1. Resources
Empowering parents with tools and strategies that assist in the challenges that come with meeting the needs of children from hard places is important. In addition to training opportunities that we offer, we have links to videos and materials that are beneficial.

2. Training
Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is a caregiver model for providing trauma-informed care. The Jade Bridge offers ongoing training in TBRI® to parents/ caregivers and organizations who serve vulnerable children and teen, as well as their families. With the support of our friends at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University, the birthplace of TBRI®, we welcome opportunities to partner with others to explore ways to implement the TBRI® model within systems that directly impact our families.

3. Community
Engaging with other adoptive and foster families at fun events throughout the year provides opportunities for connections to be made, positively impacting families with a sense of belonging and support. In addition to these events, we offer a private Facebook group for caregivers who complete TBRI® training, providing a safe place to engage and interact, as well as other short-term study groups.

It All Started With

MORE OF OUR STORYAfter attending an Empowered to Connect Conference in 2013, Kendal and Jennifer Danford realized that Trust-Based Relational Intervention® was the first time they experienced hope as they walked the road of parenting. Having become a TBRI® Practitioner, Jennifer is thankful to have opportunities to offer helpful strategies and encouragement to caregivers that she longed for early on in their adoption journey.

THE JADE BRIDGEThe Jade Bridge name is a combination of a couple of ideas. Having fashioned the logo from the actual Jade Belt Bridge, located at the Summer Palace in Beijing, China, it is representative of our organization’s mission to connect with families, as well as being a bridge as we connect families to one another, offering support and encouragement on the journey of adoption and fostering. In the Chinese culture, parents often give their daughters a jade bracelet as a symbol of love and protection.
